A HydraFacial at JÜV takes about 45 to 75 minutes, depending on the tier you choose. A licensed esthetician cleanses your skin, exfoliates it with a mild peel solution, extracts congestion from your pores with gentle suction, and infuses hydrating and antioxidant serums. Higher tiers add a targeted booster serum, LED light therapy and lymphatic drainage. There is no downtime: most people go straight back to work or plans.
Here is what each step involves, so you know what to expect before you book.
A few things can affect whether today is the right day for a HydraFacial. Let us know when you book, or reschedule, if any of these apply:
Come with a clean face if you can, though we cleanse thoroughly either way. No numbing or special prep is needed.
At your first HydraFacial, you'll fill out a short health and skin history and sign a consent form. Your esthetician then looks at your skin with you: congestion, dryness, uneven tone, fine lines, sensitivity. This is where they choose the serums and, on every tier, the booster that suits your skin that day. If something in your history suggests a different treatment would serve you better, they'll say so.
JÜV uses the HydraFacial Syndeo, the current generation of the HydraFacial system made by BeautyHealth. Every tier follows the same core sequence.
Your esthetician removes makeup, sunscreen and surface oil so the next steps reach the skin evenly.
A spiral-tipped wand (HydraFacial calls this vortex technology) moves across your skin while delivering a mild exfoliating solution. It loosens dead skin cells and softens what's sitting in your pores. Most people feel a cool, light suction, sometimes with a brief tingle. It isn't a deep chemical peel, and you won't peel afterward.
This is the step HydraFacial is known for. The wand uses gentle vacuum suction to lift debris out of your pores while flooding the skin with a hydrating serum. There's no squeezing or manual extraction. Many people are surprised by what ends up in the clear collection canister, and your esthetician can show you if you're curious.
A booster serum is applied between extraction and the final infusion, when your skin is most receptive. Your esthetician chooses it for your main concern, such as dullness, uneven tone, fine lines or firmness. On the Reserve tier, a premium booster (HydraFillic with Pep9 or ReGen GF+) is included as standard.
The final wand pass infuses antioxidant and hydrating serums to finish the treatment.
You'll rest under an LED panel for a few minutes with eye protection on. LED is painless and feels like sitting in soft, warm light.
Light, rhythmic massage strokes help move fluid away from the face. It's often the most relaxing part of the appointment.
Your esthetician applies moisturizer and SPF. You can leave without makeup or put it on afterward if you prefer.
No. Most people describe a HydraFacial as relaxing. You'll feel cool liquid, light suction and the movement of the wand. Extraction can feel like a gentle pull on congested areas such as the nose and chin. If anything feels uncomfortable, tell your esthetician and they can adjust the suction.
If it's your first HydraFacial and your main goal is a clean, hydrated reset, Deluxe is a good place to start. Platinum suits people who want the full experience, including LED and lymphatic drainage. Reserve is for people who would otherwise add a premium booster to Platinum and want it built in. Current pricing for each tier is on our booking page.
You can also add enhancements to any tier, such as dermaplaning or SkinStylus nano-channeling. Ask your esthetician at the appointment, or see our HydraFacial treatment page.
Your skin will usually look refreshed and feel hydrated straight away. Some people have mild, short-lived redness. You can go back to normal activities, including work and the gym, the same day.

Call us at (516) 414-5511 if you have redness, itching or swelling that doesn't settle, which can mean a reaction to a serum.
For ongoing maintenance, our clinicians recommend a HydraFacial about once a month. Results vary by skin type, concerns and home routine. If you plan to come regularly, a JÜV membership gives monthly credit you can use toward your HydraFacial.
A HydraFacial is a maintenance and glow treatment, not a correction for deeper concerns. If your main goal is melasma, sun spots, acne scars or deeper lines, a chemical peel, microneedling or laser treatment may suit you better. Your esthetician can tell you at the appointment if they think another option fits your goals.

How long does a HydraFacial take at JÜV? About 45 to 75 minutes, depending on the tier. Deluxe is the shortest; Reserve is the longest.
Is there downtime after a HydraFacial? No. Mild redness, if any, usually fades quickly, and you can return to normal activities the same day.
Can I wear makeup after a HydraFacial? Yes. Many people go without for the rest of the day, but it's fine to apply it.
What's the difference between the Platinum and Reserve HydraFacial? Reserve includes everything in Platinum plus a premium booster, HydraFillic with Pep9 or ReGen GF+, as standard.
Can I get a HydraFacial while pregnant? Tell your esthetician. Some booster serums are avoided during pregnancy, and they'll adjust the treatment accordingly.
